Door-to-Door Solicitation in the Township of Wentworth

Citizen informationThe Township of Wentworth would like to inform residents that door-to-door solicitation is regulated under By-law 220‑2019.
Door-to-door solicitation includes any activity where a person visits homes, businesses, or public places to sell goods, offer services, or request donations.
Important rules to know:
A valid permit is mandatory to carry out door-to-door solicitation.
The permit must be clearly displayed and shown upon request to a peace officer or municipal representative.
Permitted hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Solicitation without a permit or outside authorized hours is prohibited.
Enforcement and fines
This by-law is enforced by the Township of Wentworth and the Sûreté du Québec.
Offenders may be subject to fines ranging from $250 to $1,000, with higher amounts for repeat offences.
