BOAT WASH STATION

In order to protect Lake Louisa from invasive species that can spread from one lake to another, users who wish to launch their motorised watercraft and/or pedalos, sail boats, fishing boats, kayak, etc…, on Lake Louisa must first come to the Boat Wash Station located beside the Fire Hall at 116 Louisa Road to have their boat inspected and washed, during opening hours or on appointment by calling at the Municipal Office 450 562-0701 :

Guidelines for Pleasure Craft during the COVID-19 Pandemic

Transport Canada recognizes the ongoing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the marine industry generally, and recreational boaters specifically. While the recreational boating season is about to begin for much of Canada, it is important to remain diligent to limit the transmission of COVID-19 and to promote the health and safety of people on the water. The department is calling on Canadian recreational boaters to stay home to help limit the spread of COVID-19, but to follow provincial or territorial guidelines, as well as direction provided by local or regional health authorities.

Transport Canada has developed new measures and guidance, as announced on May 14, 2020:

A turning point for high speed Internet access in Argenteuil

The MRC of Argenteuil and Fibre Argenteuil are joining forces to announce that a turning point has been reached in the quest to bring high speed Internet access to the region's rural areas. May 15th saw the constitutive general meeting of Fibre Argenteuil Inc., a non-profit organization (NPO) whose mission is to facilitate, supply and maintain telecommunications services for as many households as possible. Fibre Argenteuil Inc., which was legally registered on February 8th 2018, was created out of the political will of the MRC of Argenteuil. Its Board of Directors is composed of seven professionals with complementary exterprise from the Argenteuil region and neighbouring areas, including two elected municipal officials appointed by the MRC council:

  • Benoît St-Jacques, President (expertise in accounting and finance)
  • Deny Ouellette, Vice President (expertise in human resources)
  • Stéphane Jourdain, Secretary-Treasurer (expertise in wired telecommunications, software integration and customer service)
  • Pascal Comeau (expertise in business law)
  • Jacques Nantel (expertise in marketing and commercialization)
  • Danielle Parent (elected municipal official, expertise in project management and software solutions implementation)
  • Denis Fillion (elected municipal official, expertise in project management and business development)
